Construction Requirements
We work closely with builders to make connectivity simple. From conduit depth to fiber placement, we provide clear construction standards and hands-on support. With our local team based in Fredericksburg, we’re just around the corner when you need help or have questions.

construction standards?
All conduit must be installed in accordance with electrical standards.
Builder/Homeowner-supplied conduit runs require a pull string or mule tape through the conduit at the time of site survey to verify there are no issues during fiber installation. This also eliminates additional costs for multiple site visits/charges to customers. Additional visits will be charged a minimum of $150 per visit, plus materials.
Minimum conduit standard from meter to home:

Mainline fiber will be spliced and connected to the home upon completion of construction for delivery of Nexstream services.
Nexstream can be hired to install conduit, or conduit can be purchased from Nexstream and delivered to the homesite for installation by the builder. For installation quotes or conduit pricing, please text 830-998-1110 or email help@nexstream.net.
Some things to keep in mind BEFORE wiring a new home:
Consult with us prior to electrical wiring and lighting selection to explore energy-saving low voltage options for lighting control.
Before the walls have been insulated, cat6 network cabling is installed to the identified points throughout the home.
A 1” Smurf tube (blue) or 1 1/4” conduit with two Cat 6 cables is dropped to every TV location, ensuring easy future expansion.
⚠️ Critical Step During Construction
Nexstream must install the required in-home wiring and WiFi equipment before walls are closed up to ensure compatibility with the Resort WiFi system and seamless service on move-in. Failure to complete this step may result in additional costs and delays to service activation.
After construction is completed, we pull fiber through the previously established conduit. The home is now Nexstream Connected!
